Terms of Service
These terms cover how SmartVoyage may be used. They are the same terms shown in the app before first use.
What SmartVoyage is
SmartVoyage helps you collate travel you have already booked (flights, stays, car hire, transport, activities) into a single itinerary, and helps you navigate airport terminals. It does not sell travel, search inventory, or process bookings on your behalf.
Your travel data
Details you enter or scan (flight numbers, passenger names, confirmation codes, boarding-pass barcodes) are stored so the app can show and organise your itinerary. Boarding-pass barcodes are never shared with anyone you share a trip with unless you explicitly turn that on for that specific ticket — a barcode can be used to view or change a real booking, so it is treated as a credential, not a photo.
Sharing a trip
If you invite someone to a trip, they can see the itinerary details you choose to share. Removing someone from a trip removes their access; it does not retroactively un-share anything they already saw.
Travel documents
You can optionally add a passport photo and details (name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, expiry) in Settings, for your own reference. The photo is visible only to you, even after you share the details — it is never part of what a friend receives. Reading the page normally happens entirely on your device. If that fails, you can choose to send that one photo to Google’s Gemini AI service to be read instead — this only ever happens after you tap to confirm it, for that one photo; the image isn’t stored along the way and the details read from it aren’t logged. The details can be shared with a specific friend, but only once you explicitly turn that on for them; nothing is visible by default, the same treatment as a boarding-pass barcode.
Visa tracking
You can optionally track visa applications per country in Settings — status, reference numbers, dates, and an optional photo. This is entirely private to you; there is no sharing model for it. Any link this app shows to a country’s official visa or travel-authorisation site is informational only — it never determines whether you personally need a visa, and you should always confirm entry requirements with the destination’s own official source.
Location and sensors
Airport navigation uses your device’s location, and where available, motion and Bluetooth signals, only while you are using that feature, to estimate your position inside a terminal and to detect which airport you are in. If you tap “Use my location” in the Currency tab, your coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap’s public Overpass service to find nearby exchange bureaus — this app doesn’t store them, but they do leave your device for that one request. This data is not sold.
No guarantee of accuracy
Flight times, gate assignments, walking routes, and estimated walking times are best-effort and may be wrong, delayed, or based on incomplete map data. Always confirm gate and boarding information with your airline and the airport’s own displays. Live flight information is not connected yet, so no real departures are shown against airport gates. If you switch on the Airport tab’s demo departures, every flight shown is invented for preview purposes, is marked “DEMO”, and must never be relied on. Opening hours shown for airport shops and restaurants come from OpenStreetMap, are recorded for only about one in five venues, and may be out of date.
Your account and inactivity
You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings at any time. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
Accounts that have not had any sign-ins for more than 2 years may be scheduled for deletion after a 30-day notice period. Where possible, we will attempt to notify you via push notification before deletion takes effect. Signing in at any time cancels the scheduled deletion.
